Celebrity Golf Outing Hosted By Dennis Hopson

Apart from featuring alongside Michael Jordan in the Chicago Bulls 1991 NBA championship-winning team, Dennis Hopson has many accolades to his name. Giving back is what matters a lot to this basketball legend from Ohio.

Hopson hosted a celebrity golf tournament at the Stone Oak Country Club on Monday.

Former Ohio State Buckeyes football legend, NFL pro, and a two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin was on the guest list.

In his speech, Griffin hailed Dennis as a fabulous person and congratulated him for what he has done for Ohio State University. He pledged his support for Hopson’s cause to display their togetherness as athletes from Ohio State.

The event raised funds for The MLK Kitchen for the Poor, The Boys and Girls Club, Mom’s House, and two TPS high schools.

In his speech, Hopson stated how the community was great to him as a young kid and could do anything to return the favor and give back to whoever he can. Former American football running back James Starks is another celebrity who was also in attendance. Heisman Trophy winners, pros, and Hall of Famers were all on the course to teach the next generation a valuable lesson.

Hall of Famer Shawn Reid stated that this is meant to show that there is life after basketball. He also added that the aim is to earn a scholarship for those who wish to play at the next level and add that to defining opportunities in life, which has been done by everyone present at the event.
