Golfing Tips: 3 Simple Tips to Improve Ball Striking

One of the most satisfying things is striking the ball with the middle of the club surface. Whenever you find it, the ball will always finish whenever you want it. 

Striking the ball can be unclear statistically. On the PGA Tour, this is calculated by bringing together the overall driving and greens in regulation. 

Currently, John Rahm tops the PGA Tour list of the best ball strikers. This is because he ranks 6th in greens in regulation and second in total driving. Collin Morikawa, 2020 PGA Champion, ranks seventh, and Stewart Cink, RBC Heritage winner, ranks 9th. 

Here are tips to help you enhance your striking ball prowess.

Tip 1: 3-Ball Drill

It is an easy practice to help you strike the ball perfectly with the right focus. While on the practicing pitch, lay down three balls in a line as you target to hit the middle ball.

If you can learn this drill by concentrating on the ball in the middle and ignoring the rest, you will make a strong swing and strike the targeted ball. 

Tip 2: Maintain Your Balance

If you want to hit a ball right in the middle of the clubface, you should make sure your legs are still and keep your balance. This will ensure your club doesn’t get off-line. 

Your left leg is an essential part of maintaining your balance because when you keep it still, the rest of your body will do the same, and the club will swing perfectly. 

Tip 3: Club Drop Drill

This particular tactic helps to ensure your hips turn when you swing instead of moving backward. Sliding your hips back as you take a backswing tilts your shoulders, creating a bending angle for your downswing. 

To carry out this drill, organize the ball and lean another golf club from your hind hip to the ground. The club will fall if your hip turns but fails to slide. This is an indication that you have dome a solid swing and have the same connection.
